Obsidian: Reflects one's flaws and presents clear picture of necessary changes; grounding and protective.
Rainbow: A "stone of pleasure" that brings gratification and enjoyment to one's life; allows recognition of one's spiritual nature; good of "gazing", especially regarding matters of love, relationships, and total development of one's etheric and physical forms.

Stealth had been a point of emphasis in their training long ago and while Justin would accept nothing less than proficiency, Elaine had always been more gifted in subtly than Harry.
The combination of his lanky limbs and his tiny bed made it impossible to sneak out of bed on her. At least, that's what he told himself anyway. He'd barely begun to disengage his limbs from hers when he noticed her stirring.
She turned toward him, wheat colored hair splayed behind her like a halo on the pillow. Suddenly wide awake and ready to hurl herself into whatever hell the universe might throw at them today - for the simple reason that she didn't like being away from Harry.
The look on her face, she always gave him the same look when he tried to sneak off like this, seemed to ask
did somebody die? And the sad thing was how frequently that answer turned out to be yes.
This rare morning, he got to press a reassuring kiss to her forehead. Smiling, his voice was soft and rumbly. "Just pretend to be asleep while I make breakfast." The smile she returned to him - so content and perfectly happy - made his heart swell.
Making breakfast consisted of Harry pouring bowls of Elaine's favorite cereal as an entree. That was about all the culinary sophistication he could handle, but he made up for it by making sure it looked like breakfast in a commercial. Fresh squeezed orange juice and coffee to drink. A side of three strips of bacon and toast and fresh cut fruit.
It took longest to cook the bacon, but it filled the small, chilly basement apartment with that pleasant hickory smell that reminded him of breakfast at the farm. Most of the bacon - you had to buy it by the pound after all and Harry hated the thought of re-freezing it - ended up split between the two pet dishes.
The finishing touch was Elaine's birthday present. An
obsidian rainbow necklace that he placed in a polished mahogany box, was slipped onto the tray along with the food.
